April 2013 News and Updates

  • Casey Schreiber has joined the gallery and set up her hand bound journals and beautiful hand bags using recycled book covers.  She will be displaying those creations and some hand made jewelry in the corner spot where Jo-Ann Jensen has been showing her work.  Jo-Ann will be moving to the spot previously occupied by Laura.
  • Janine has left the gallery and Laura is now displaying her art in the back room where Janine was formerly located.  In the new area, Laura is able to show her larger work.
  • Gallery Walk is scheduled for Saturday April 6th from 6:00 to 10:00.
  • Carolyn held a gallery meeting to finalize who will be assisting with the Gallery Walk preparations.  Kim has volunteered to come in early for set up.  Carol will keep watch over refilling snacks and general organization of the food and work with Greg on keeping the punch and wine filled.  Ann has volunteered to work the front desk during the evening but we still need volunteers to stamp maps and to close for the evening.
  • Carolyn has just completed the first in a series of educational videos of drawing for kids.  She hopes to have a CD of six lessons on drawing Florida wildlife available soon.
  • Every month City wide Arts & Entertainment magazine will feature a picture of art from one of our artists within our gallery advertisement.  Shirley of Yard Bird’s Bling will be the April featured artist.  Each artist being featured is responsible for sending Tony Strong a picture of their art with their name and a note that it is to be used as the featured artist within the Carolyn Seiler & Friends ad.  Send a short bio as well and if Tony has space available he will include it.  Be sure to send your information to Tony two weeks before the end of the month so he has time to include it in the upcoming publication.  His address is: tony@citywideart.com

Pausefunei’s business, Li6 Abstract Artistry encompasses her many artistic endeavors.  The name stands for Life Illustrations for Mankind.  Pausefunei is a songwriter, sings on her praise team at church, writes poetry, enjoys fashion design and creates distinctive abstract acrylic art.  Although she prefers working in acrylics, she also creates computer generated drawings and loves all mediums of art.  Her art influences her poetry and songwriting and they in turn inspire her art.

Pausefunei has been composing songs since she was 12, writing poetry since elementary school and drawing with anything she could get her hands on since she was around three years old.  Her grandmother has been her biggest supporter, encouraging her to express herself using everything from lipstick, eyebrow pencil, crayons and anything else that makes a mark.  Pausefunei’s art at the gallery includes paintings, vases and other colorful forms of unique abstract art.  Pausefunei’s future goals include getting corporate contracts for designs of logos and merchandise and fashion design.  She also will be focusing on odd color combinations and designs with musical and biblical influences.  Soon she willl be bringing in more glass creations with a $25.00 or under price point so look for those exciting pieces in late April or early May
